Fieldwork

We are planning and property professionals.

We work with urban and rural landowners to reveal their development potential.

We share the risk and reward and do not charge an upfront fee.

What we do

Open House London launch at Great Suffolk Yard, New-works recently completed building in Southwark.

Fieldwork is a team of planning and property specialists with 25 years of expertise in creating financial and social value from land and property for public, private, and third sectors.

We help asset-rich, cash-poor landowners maximise the value of their assets without upfront investment or reliance on developer valuations. Our comprehensive services include site assessment, potential use analysis, design proposals, and market preparation.

For private landowners, there are no upfront fees. We partner with clients, assume the risks, and share a percentage of the value created upon sale. Our approach lowers costs, reduces risk, and incentivises ambitious schemes to maximise returns.

Alex Russell, Paul Augarde and Dan McCarthy, Directors of Augarde and Partners

Ben McCarthy, Managing Director of AMR Consult

Charlotte Pearce Cornish, Director of AMR Consult

Augarde and Partners create the strategies that bring projects to life. They work with their clients, communities and other stakeholders as they identify and realise opportunities with the greatest impact, looking at project parameters from innovative perspectives. The nature of their work is cross-disciplinary and sees them build project specific teams around the brief and project.

Alex, Dan and Paul’s enviable network and experience allows them to distill optimal uses for Fieldwork sites, identify future occupiers, and run robust development appraisals. Their input is invaluable in optimising the opportunity of each Fieldwork project.

New-works Directors Tom Lewith and Doug Hodgson are Chartered Architects with a long track record designing and delivering exceptional buildings both as New-works and its predecessor TDO. The company’s strength is in early stage architectural concept resolution and engagement with Local Authority Planning departments. TDO and New-works have been recognised as among the best young practices in the UK, with both Directors listed in The Architects’ Journal 40 under 40, a major survey of the nation’s brightest talent.

Tom and Doug’s focus is wellbeing and sustainability. Their design work for Fieldwork balances landowner priorities, the project brief and the opportunities the site presents.

AMR are cross-disciplinary practice led by Ben McCarthy. They bring a wide range of building consultancy professional services including cost-consultancy, project management and planning consultancy, which draws on the specialist knowledge of former Local Authority Planners now in-house at AMR. They are a RICS registered company and a corporate member of the Association of Project Management.

Ben’s career is defined by driving and leading projects to completion. He is adept at identifying the skills needed to make an idea reality, and has built an extensive team of technical experts around him, any of which may be brought into Fieldwork projects as required.

What Our Clients Say

Rosie Russell, Landowner

"Fieldwork has provided thoughtful and considered advice about the development of my land. My site is not straightforward, and I wasn't sure about how best to engage the development sector about developing it.

As an individual private landowner, with limited experience of development, it is important to me that I can trust those working with me to work in my best interests. Fieldwork has spent time to build trust, sharing ideas and workings. They have communicated clearly and openly with me throughout. I feel confident my priorities are being heard and the site’s value is being uncovered.

They share the risk, which reassures me. They do all the upfront work and get the sale before I need to pay anything. Because they share the benefit, I know it is in their interests to get the best deal.”
